I disagree though, in life,  as one aged, one acquires more knowledge, become more  mature, care more about life and  about being happy. My journey in life has been a roller coaster ride, but with it,  comes wisdom, discerning what is valuable and being  grateful to all the blessings that comes along the way. I cannot phantom the road I will be travelling in the future, but one thing is for sure, I would stop for a rest, by my feet will bring me to my final destination. Where? What’s your dream??

As my birthday nears, I asked myself what is my dream?? seems like i have been stuck in a this lifestyle and no where to go.  I have so many questions, I have lost sense of reality. Seems in a world of chaos my safe haven is my small confined world, in my room, in front of my computer.

I was reading this book that says “You have to quit living  and live as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.You have to go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention.”

Wow big words. Chase your dream, you have to bite the bullet , you have to go big.

But what is my dream?? Where will I start, what will i start if i haven’t even figure out what my dream is? OR probably I know what my dream is but I am afraid to make it my dream because I am afraid I’d fail?

I lost my confidence I lost my sense of direction, I lost passion. I live in a day to day  basis, running away from what I am afraid of.  Somehow I know I need to revive the passion in me, to see clearly my purpose and to chase that lion fearlessly.

Start dreaming maybe not big ones but start now. Live a life with a purpose. And slowly in God’s  time all shall be revealed.

“Till Death Do Us Part”

A lot of people have been asking this question,  not necessarily a question thrown to me personally, but since valentines day I’ve been seeing this on  Facebook.

Do you believe in “Forever”?

I’ve read a couple of answers that somehow made me ponder.  Do I believe in “Forever”?

NO I DON’T. Forever is just a fantasy but I do believe in a more realistic “TILL DO US PART.”

The Church pastor that delivered God’s message last Sunday was quite clear with biblical point of view on Marriage.

Mark 10: 6-9

 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.
Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
I believe that Marriage is still sacred, Marriage is a lifetime commitment, that’s why I believe in long engagement.
Before marriage happens, attraction comes first. Man gets  attracted to a woman, he/she gets to know about the other person better, they fall in love. But it doesn’t stop there, Men always believe that expression of love is sex which is the primary purpose of marriage “to procreate”  ( and the two will become one flesh). And that is the first magical part of  a commitment. The next part usually enters when problems starts to seep in. For some it could be the “In-Laws” (a common problem with close family ties) or financial  problems.
Union of two different people is a real challenge and any marriage that do not suffer from trials are definitely a fake marriage. This trials, could either make or break a relationship. It could  solidify the foundation of the relationship and conquer all odds or it could melt all promise and end up losing each other.
Marriage is a lifetime commitment. It is not solely based on feeling, but of trust, respect and love.It is never a spur of the moment. There is no  marriage made in heaven. Time will test your commitment love would even fade away, trust will be broken, and respect could turn to something unimaginable.So with this thoughts in mind why will I believe in Til death do us part?
The answer  can be found on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Regardless how many times you’ve been hurt by your spouse there should always be room for forgiveness just as God forgave our sins,
No matter how hurt we are, we should never be rude, It should always protect always trust, always hopes always perseveres. Marriage is not easy, but it can be manageable if we stop thinking about ourselves.
Ephesians 5:22-33

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word,27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[b]32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

That’s why before getting married marriage counselors should give emphasis that this is a lifetime commitment, no expiry date. For love to last, it should be kept burning. If it dies, rekindle and get back that loving feeling.  At the end of the day, after all those drama, love will always prevail.

Betrayal of PUBLIC TRUST

ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC OFFICERS

Section 1. Public Office is a public trust. Public officers and employees must at
all times be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity,
loyalty, and efficiency, act with patriotism and justice, and lead modest lives.

With the recent news about the NAPOLES Pork Barrel scam, i came to see how betrayal of public trust has been clearly done by public officials. In case of former Supreme Court Justice Renato Corona He was disgraced and remove from office  to wit:

 “On May 29, 2012, Corona was found guilty of Article II of the Articles of Impeachmentfiled against him pertaining to his failure to disclose to the public his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment_of_Renato_Corona)

The Filipino people are outraged by this  event. Although some are skeptical about the REAL Motive behind the impeachment we accepted the facts as it is. According to the Philippine Constitution  Article IX

ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC OFFICERS

Section 1. Public Office is a public trust. Public officers and employees must at
all times be ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE, serve them with utmost RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY, LOYALTY, and efficiency, act with PATRIOTISM AND JUSTICE and lead MODEST lives

Section 2. The President, the Vice-President, the Members of the Supreme Court,
the Members of the Constitutional Commissions, and the Ombudsman may be removed
from office, on impeachment for, and conviction of, culpable violation of the
Constitution, treason, bribery, graft and corruption, other high crimes, or betrayal of
public trust. All other public officer and employees may be removed from office as
provided by law, but not by impeachment.

Who are responsible for  removing these people from office?

Section 3. (1) The House of Representative shall have the exclusive power to
initiate all cases of impeachment.

Section 4. The present anti-graft court known as the Sandiganbayan shall
continue to function and exercise its jurisdiction as now or hereafter may be provided by
law.

Section 5. There is hereby created the independent Office of the Ombudsman,
composed of the Ombudsman to be known as Tanodbayan, one overall Deputy and at
least one Deputy each for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. A separate Deputy for the
military establishment may likewise be appointed.

Section 6. The officials and employees of the Office of the Ombudsman, other
than the Deputies, shall be appointed by the Ombudsman according to the Civil Service
Law.

Section 7. The existing Tanodbayan shall hereafter be known as the Office of the
Special Prosecutor. It shall continue to function and exercise its powers as now or
hereafter may be provided by law, except those conferred on the Office of the
Ombudsman created under this Constitution

The Committee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigations of the Senate of the Philippines, or more popularly known as the Blue Ribbon Committee, is the Senate committeetasked to investigate alleged wrongdoings of the government, its officials, and its attached agencies, including government owned and controlled corporations, in aid of legislation, that is, the primary purpose is the suggestion of new laws, or proposals of amendments to existing laws (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Senate_Blue_Ribbon_Committee)

having this in mind and the NAPOLES pork barrel scam,  I have few other facts that i want to present.

ANTI-GRAFT AND CORRUPT PRACTICES ACT

Section 1. Statement of policy. — It is the policy of the Philippine Government,
in line with the principle that a public office is a public trust, to repress certain acts of
public officers and private persons alike which constitute graft or corrupt practices or
which may lead thereto

Section 2. Definition of terms

(c) “Receiving any gift” includes the act of accepting directly or indirectly a gift
from a person other than a member of the public officer’s immediate family, in behalf of
himself or of any member of his family or relative within the fourth civil degree, either
by consanguinity or affinity, even on the occasion of a family celebration or national
festivity like Christmas, if the value of the gift is under the circumstances manifestly
excessive.

Section 3. Corrupt practices of public officers.

(b) Directly or indirectly requesting or receiving any gift, present, share,
percentage, or benefit, for himself or for any other person, in connection with any
contract or transaction between the Government and any other party, wherein the public
officer in his official capacity has to intervene under the law

(c) Directly or indirectly requesting or receiving any gift, present or other
pecuniary or material benefit, for himself or for another, from any person for whom the
public officer, in any manner or capacity, has secured or obtained, or will secure or
obtain, any Government permit or license, in consideration for the help given or to be
given, without prejudice to Section thirteen of this Act

(g) Entering, on behalf of the Government, into any contract or transaction
manifestly and grossly disadvantageous to the same, whether or not the public officer
profited or will profit thereby

(j) Knowingly approving or granting any license, permit, privilege or benefit in
favor of any person not qualified for or not legally entitled to such license, permit,
privilege or advantage, or of a mere representative or dummy of one who is not so
qualified or entitled.

The person giving the gift, present, share, percentage or benefit referred to in
subparagraphs (b) and (c); or offering or giving to the public officer the employment
mentioned in subparagraph (d); or urging the divulging or untimely release of the
confidential information referred to in subparagraph (k) of this section shall, together
with the offending public officer, be punished under Section nine of this Act and shall be
permanently or temporarily disqualified in the discretion of the Court, from transacting
business in any form with the Government

Section 7. Statement of assets and liabilities. — Every public officer, within
thirty days after assuming office, thereafter, on or before the fifteenth day of April
following the close of every calendar year, as well as upon the expiration of his term of
office, or upon his resignation or separation from office, shall prepare and file with the
office of the corresponding Department Head, or in the case of a Head of department or
Chief of an independent office, with the Office of the President, a true, detailed sworn
statement of assets and liabilities, including a statement of the amounts and sources of
his income, the amounts of his personal and family expenses and the amount of income
taxes paid for the next preceding calendar year

Section 8. Prima facie evidence of and dismissal due to unexplained wealth.
— If in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act Numbered One thousand three
hundred seventy-nine, a public official has been found to have acquired during his
incumbency, whether in his name or in the name of other persons, an amount of
property and/or money manifestly out of proportion to his salary and to his other lawful
income, that fact shall be a ground for dismissal or removal. Properties in the name of
the spouse and dependents of such public official may be taken into consideration, when
their acquisition through legitimate means cannot be satisfactorily shown. Bank deposits
in the name of or manifestly excessive expenditures incurred by the public official, his
spouse or any of their dependents including but not limited to activities in any club or
association or any ostentatious display of wealth including frequent travel abroad of a
non-official character by any public official when such activities entail expenses
evidently out of proportion to legitimate income, shall likewise be taken into
consideration in the enforcement of this section, notwithstanding any provision of law to
the contrary. The circumstances hereinabove mentioned shall constitute valid ground for
the administrative suspension of the public official concerned for an indefinite period
until the investigation wealth is completed. (As amended by BP Blg., 195, March 16,
1982)

With the recent development in the PDAF Scam most Senators and Congressmen  gave an alibi  that they just endorsed the NGO will that  actually save them from the verdict?

The Power of Declaration..

I have never  believed in the power of declaration. I never thought that this will affect my life, my state of mind and my future as well. I read a lot of self- help books that discuss about positive outlook and saying phrases like ” I am a wonderful person, I can do it” etc, etc. I did that and never believe in  myself anyway.

It was  just a few days ago that made me realize the true power of declaration.

I  resigned from my clerical job in pursuit of greener pasture and  jump in the call center bandwagon. Since I’m a call center virgin, there are lots of new things that i need to learn in 4 weeks. It was when i hit the floor (Academy bay) that i had the real taste of call center reality. Panic stricken, I got calls that  questions my ability to do my job well, my confidence  was really low and the SME’ s hasn’t been very helpful either.  I was at a lowest point. I have several markdowns and 2 autofails. I even had the negative notion that all calls are just impossible to close. It was really a rough day.

The following monday I declared in my instagram a good vibes,  happy monday, great day! No irate costumer to deal with, sale and no unhelpful SME shall upset me. IT did happen!

The following day, Tuesday, I declared a blessed Tuesday on my Facebook status.  With a silent prayer for a better score and a better performance. I asked God’s help knowing that I cannot do it without God’s help. My chance of getting the job seems so slim, and I am losing hope. With God’s grace I overcame all the obstructions that blocked my way that day. I then realized the power of declaration.

The following day Wednesday (yesterday). I was in high spirits and declared this in my FB status.

Don’t give up!

Though the road I’m taking is a bit rough

 And the future seems hazy ,

When I feel like I want to give up,Because the fight is a little tough I pray for God’s mercy.

Declaring God’ s mercy this day. His mercy endureth forever..

I have so many worries that day one of which if I had the lowest grade I’d be the last to pick a schedule which means I would be getting the morning shift and  won’t be able to go to church. Something that became a burden to me. I wouldn’t want to sacrifice my God’s day in lieu of money.Thou I know that something good will happen that day. I stand on my ground that God will have mercy in me. Later that day, when we were shown our stats, and score cards,i couldn’t believe the result. I made it on the top. I was overwhelmed. I knew it was impossible but God made a way! I ranked third as of yesterday, which means i could get the chance to pick the schedule i want. (which is one of the reasons why i want to work in call center i need a schedule that would compliment with husband’s routine work sched  and help with household chores)

I still have 2 days to battle before hitting the floor and i am standing on God’s promise.

P.S. We often declare negative things easily and unknowingly (I can’t do it, it’s impossible or  you can’t do it etc.) I have learned that the words we utter have weights and impact on our lives. So instead of criticizing our gov’t, our partners/ spouses, our children,friends, students, encourage and declare positively and loudly with faith and boldness. We need to transfer that faith to that person until that person believes that he can do it. Declare healing for your sick family. Declare blessings say ” God bless” to everyone even to those who curse you. Make it a habit declaring good things and believe and it will happen.
